Final Submission for the regular Fall 2026 Semester
The Final Submission deadline for graduation in the regular Fall 2026 Semester is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 4.
If you are a Master’s student writing a Thesis or a Doctoral student writing a Dissertation and you are planning to graduate in the regular Fall 2026 Semester, you must turn in the final version of your Thesis/Dissertation and all necessary materials to UDTS on or by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 4. Failure to do so will result in graduation in the Spring 2027 Semester or later.
By “final version,” we are referring to the version of your thesis/dissertation that fulfills all of the following criteria:
- UDTS has reviewed and approved your document’s formatting through the Format Review;
- You have successfully defended (if a Defense is a requirement for your degree/discipline);
- Your committee has approved the document’s content.
Format Review Policy
- All theses and dissertations must go through the mandatory Format Review. We strongly recommend that you submit your document for the Format Review as soon as possible to avoid delays.
- UDTS does not review content; we only review documents to confirm that they adhere to University Formatting Guidelines. Therefore, you may continue to make changes to your document’s content throughout the Format Review process, and after you have passed the Format Review.
- For the Fall 2026 Semester, we will accept first-time (initial) submissions of theses and dissertations for Format Review until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2. Any document sent for an initial Format Review after 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2 will not be reviewed until Tuesday, December 8 at the earliest.
- For the Fall 2026 Semester,we will perform subsequent reviews (i.e., second-round reviews and beyond) of documents until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2.
- We will not perform any Format Reviews at all (initial or subsequent) between 5:01 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2 and 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 8.
- Any students who have not passed the Format Review by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2 will not be eligible to graduate in the Fall 2026 Semester.
