UDTS has been making efforts to make our digital content accessible to everyone.
Starting in Spring of 2027, all theses and dissertations must be formatted using our All New Template, which incorporates accessibility standards. For the Fall 2026 Semester, we are still accepting theses and dissertations written using the Legacy templates, and students graduating in Fall 2026 may choose to use the new Accessible template if they wish. Note: Legacy Templates will be phased out and removed in the semester of Spring 2027.
Our templates are formatted according to university guidelines. We have templates in both Word and LaTeX formats for our Legacy templates, and an All New template with incorporated accessibility standards.
Below we have information on our All New templates and Legacy templates:
All New Templates
- Word
- Word Template with Traditional (chapter-based) body text: The body of this document is set up in a narrative, chapter-based model, with each subsequent chapter building on the one(s) before it.
- Word Template with Manuscript-style body text: The body of this document is set up to contain multiple manuscripts (i.e., articles that have either already been published in a journal or will later be submitted for publication). The manuscripts are separate and independent of one another, each containing a beginning, middle, and end. Generally, the body consists of 3 manuscripts, but it can contain fewer or more; that is up to individual authors and their committees. Authors may also choose to include an Introduction at the beginning of the body and/or a Conclusion at the end, and each individual manuscript may have its own set of Appendices and References.
- LaTeX
- LaTeX Template: This template can be modified to be either a narrative, chapter-based thesis/dissertation, or a manuscript-style thesis/dissertation.
