Embargo Renewal and Reinstatement

Embargo Renewal

If you choose to embargo your work for any period (2 years, 5 years, or 10 years), you will turn in an Embargo Intent Statement at the time of Final Submission.

If, near the time your embargo is set to lift, you wish to renew or extend your embargo, you will need to complete and turn in an Embargo Renewal Form. We recommend that you first check with your academic program, as each college/school/department sets their own policies regarding the renewal/extension of embargoes. If you decide to go forward with requesting a renewal/extension of your embargo, please contact the UDTS Coordinator to initiate the process: [email protected]. The acting Graduate Associate Dean of your college/school and a representative from the Graduate Division are responsible for approving requests to renew/extend embargoes. Their decisions are final and cannot be appealed.

Reinstatement Forms

If your embargo has lifted and you want to re-establish it, you have the option to request reinstatement of an embargo. You will need to complete and turn in an Embargo Reinstatement Form. We recommend that you first check with your academic program, as each college/school/department sets their own policies regarding the reinstatement of embargoes. If you decide to go forward with requesting a reinstatement of your embargo, please contact the UDTS Coordinator to initiate the process: [email protected]. The acting Graduate Associate Dean of your college/school and a representative from the Graduate Division are responsible for approving requests to reinstate embargoes. Their decisions are final and cannot be appealed.
